There is no shortage of places to play in this city. There is exactly one that sits on Dubai Fountain Street, directly beneath the Burj Khalifa, where the skyline is not a view you drive out to find but the thing standing over the court you have just booked.

Everything sits on the same piece of ground: six padel courts, four pitches, a fitness floor, a yoga studio and a café with a terrace. A match, a class and a coffee become a single hour rather than three separate journeys across town.

It is a position no other facility in Dubai can copy, and the club is built to use it — courts approved for tournament play, turf laid for the knees of people who have work in the morning, and a terrace pointed at the most photographed building on earth.

Padel

Six courts, each one full international size — twenty metres by ten — and officially approved by the World Padel Tour. The surface is Mondoturf.

Padel is the rare game that is generous to a beginner on a Tuesday and still unforgiving at the top of the draw. The club calls it perfect for all levels, and means it: the glass does half the teaching. The academy is run by Gaby Reca, with coaches from Argentina and Spain.

Football

Four five-a-side pitches, which partition into two eight-a-side depending on how many people actually turn up. FIFA-grade turf laid over shock pads — the part your knees will notice — with EPDM infill, which is temperature-resistant and low-odour, the part everyone else notices.

Rugby

Touch and contact, on the same turf as the football. Open bookings for anyone who can raise a side, and an academy pathway for players who want a season rather than an evening.
